Two boys I know. Both friends. One I have known for over 40 years and the other for 38 years. Both boys were best friends most of their lives. They would do everything together. When aged five they had their first shared birthday. At the age of ten the went to each others birthdays and played star wars.At the age of 15 both had started with girls and girls and started with them.By the age of 20 one tried drugs and asked the other if he’d like to try drugs. Both had tried cocaine but never became addicts. Also by the age of 20 both had begun different paths. One an entrepreneur the other a dentist. Both still kept in touched and played well together. The one who had begun training as a dentist one day was asked if he would like to do some modelling for a model agency whilst walking through the streets of London. Yes he said and became not just a one shot wonder model but a high-demand model that also went into acting. The other friend had opened one shop, opened another shop and kept repeating the same process.By the age of 30 both were in relationships and eventually married and eventually kids and both had 4 kids each so 8 in total. One married a local girl and the other married his counterpart who was a leggy gorgeous Swedish model. She was sexy and very organic looking bohemian hippy. One day while both were 33 years old they decided to do a business deal together. This was a deal that would make both men a lot of money. Both had a lot of money now but this really was a lot of money and more money than both men had seen in the past. So the two friends prepared the deal, created the paperwork, pulled the cash together to make the deal happen. Then one day one friend told the other friend he felt he would deserve more from the deal due to the work being put into the deal. The other said it should be split 50/50 as agreed and this moment proved to be a moment when the fuse was to be lit and an explosive end would take place in their long relationship. Both friends then parted. The friend that wanted to do the 50/50 well he became very wealthy. so wealthy in fact he had to build a home not just for his four kids but also for is prestigious collection of cars. He had Rolls Royce's, Bentleys and all brands that were known to bring power and significance to the owner. He also had homes in different parts of the world and also had new friends but never a friend to replace his best friend. His best friend became a little more than self indulgent. His life had became sex, drugs and rock and roll. He even drove his vintage Rolls Royce into a swimming pool just for a moment of obscene pleasure. Years passed by and time carried on.Then one day the sister of one of the friends met the mother of the other friend in a field of all places. They asked how each other was as it had been such a long time and then shared the lives of both men. The first friend that eventually married the local girl and wanted to do the 50/50 business deal well his life had seen incredible highs and even more incredible lows. Not only had he made over 100 million pounds in his business he had also lost the same amount. His cars had gone, his houses had gone his old friends and gone and the stress off trying to keep everything and lose nothing had almost killed him.Despite his young age his skin and the look of a man of many years older. The other friend had also his fair share of problems. His beautiful model wife had been seeing his best friend and the first he knew was when she told him she was pregnant. The problem with that was they had both decided to have no more kids some years before and he had taken permanent contraception. Clearly the child was not his so she confessed. She moved out with his four children and moved in with her new man and had another child from him. So the sister of the friend gasped and wondered at the outcomes and directions of the boys that had become men. She wanted to know how he was doing now and was he doing fine again? The mother told her how he was right now.His children were all getting big, he was still married to the same woman yet he had lost all of his wealth and was starting all over again. The mother said no more and looked at the sister and waited for her reaction. She said wow and the mother said yes I know. Then the sister told the story of her brother after being asked where is he and how is he doing since his wife left him. She told him a terrifying story of how he found it almost impossible to live without his beautiful wife and sadly fell into hard drugs for a short period of time.At some point during his cataclysmic fall a stunning dark skinned Mexican woman found him, loved him, cleaned him up, made love to his very soul and claimed him as her man. Now he had found happiness with his new woman and lives a life of peace in Mexico. Both men would love to speak to each other and become friends again yet both men are men and men can be stupid and refuse to make the first move. But after listening to these stories that were shared with me I did think how life is. Life is change and change is life. What arrives into our lives never really arrives by accident but was always on it’s way. It’s on its way because when we look back we can see the intention for the arrival of what finally arrives was set into motion consciously or unconsciously all those years before. Which raises the question if our unconscious actions results in a real results which is physical and actual well surely we must try and be more aware of actions and decisions we make and take daily? The second thing is there are some in life that don’t expect changes when they arrive and even reject them but why not? Change is natural, change is all around. As I write from my room and look out the window the green views with the wonderful tree tops has changed into brown and dead looking trees that have another kind of beauty that can be appreciated. Change is lives way of asking us to make some adjustments and redress our thoughts and actions in some way. Change is expected and should be read as most change has a message loaded within the changes. I do wonder if the two boys shall ever become friends again?Alan Forrest Smith
