Whitney Houston Dead | Modern Philosophy

Whitney Houston Dead.

See that picture above? That is a realistic picture of some stars end to life. This was a young kid named Racheal living the manufactured dream of living like a star.

Whitney Houston Dead.

Yes she was a great artist and it appears we are told to expect that all artists are tortured souls. Maybe they are and what they get up to is their choice, not the choice of another.

I’m remember my first encounter with her as she sang the theme from the Bodyguard movie even asking myself why didn’t she pick me! She looked amazing. She sang like an angel. She had wealth, fame the lot. Yet she also had a serious long time, death inducing drug habit.

Now like a long, long line before her she is dead, Whitney Houston is dead.

For years she has appeared in the papers, on the news and other media looking like a half hearted copy of her former self.

She was a self-confessed crack cocaine addict with addictions of a lot of other things being reported.

Of course her death is sad yet her death is self-inflicted. Far too often we see others saying… her death came as a shock, total surprise, heart ripping news yet they are the very same ones that knew about her addictions.

How can the death of someone constantly filling him self or her self with death inducing chemicals be a shock?

She is nowcontinue reading

 Modern Philosophy

I’m at the gym. Just across me on a facing treadmill is a young guy around 5’8”, thinning hair, large nose and absolutely focused on his gadget. His gadget is an iPhone where he is playing a movie of some kind. His earphones are not quite long enough which makes the guy run with his lower chest touching the frame of the treadmill. If he pulls back the iPhone will fall. He barely notices he barely blinks. His eyes are fixed, staring directly into the three and a half inch screen with a hypnotic stare that appears to be unmovable.

After 30 minutes running non stop he appears to snap out of his fixation, switch off the treadmill, change channels on his TV screen, switch on another channel and then walk out of the gym staring fixed, glazed into the tiny screen of his iPhone.

Some words instantly came to mind.

Hypnosis

Addiction

Disconnect

Unaware

This is not uncommon of course.

I just wondered as I thought about the way we are so addicted to our gadgets these days. I then thought about the young girl just a week or so ago in England that walked home in the daylight listening to her iPod whilst texting at the same time. It cost her life. She walked across a rail track and was killed instantly buy the train.

Just the other day I called one of my boys who happened to be in the other room next to where I was sitting. I wentcontinue reading

Escape from Zoomanity ... Consumption

Rick is the kind of guy you really don’t want to get into an eating competition with after all at just under 500 pounds in weight, he’ll take more than a bit of beating.

In one serving Rick is proud to announce he can eat 9 fat dripping double burgers, 12 protein packed eggs, two large bottles of sugar laced coke and that’s just to start with.

It wasn’t always like that of course, at one time Rick would eat a meal just like anyone, average servings, average foods, average everything.

One day Rick discovered foods that hadn’t been tasted before. They appeared to have more flavor and yet in a strange way, more addictive.

One burger went to two, two went to four and four went to eight. The volumes just grew along with the regularity of the foods.  It was now un-official, Rick was addicted to foods and the worst kind of foods at that. This of course would lead to weight gain, bad health, social restrictions.

At 33 Rick couldn’t leave the house due to his weight. His weight was now giving him heart problems, the heart problems held Rick in fear and his fears were now being subdued by even more food.

At 500 pounds, stuck to a bed, addicted to food and literally rotting on his bed some would see him, speak to him and stared at him asking “how does that happen?”

Let me bring this back to you.

Have you ever eaten junk foods that are salt packed, sugar packed or clearly over-flavored?continue reading

Cain was jealous of his brother Abel. Cain killed him, battered him senseless until the life God had given them, had left him forever.

I sometimes wonder how Adam and Eve felt about that? Their sons, literally minutes in time after creation itself, and man begins the route of death and killing one another.

The scene was now set for death by unnatural cause to become part of humanity.  As time moved forward, death by one man, death by an army, death by a nation became feared yet accepted. The solution to those deaths was usually to retaliate with more death, thus relentless ride of death gripped, held and still holds mankind in its grip.

I was just thinking, can you imagine being in the thick of a battlefield with swords? Arms, legs, heads would fly past through the endless spray of blood and if you survived you’d become blood thirsty for more or sickened to the core with the sight of another man losing his life before your very eyes or even your own swords.

And it all so simple today!

The slightest threat, the lightest word said in anger, the waving of a fist of even coded talk deciphered to say something it never actually said (W.M.D.) and the buttons are pressed, boom, bang another wave of destruction more wives, more parents, more children, more young lives ended in a hail of bullets.

Zoomanity loves that, the old ways of a very modern Alexander the greater than any other nation where the fat bloated generals, the warped mind of a weapons scientist and the public school boy politicians sit around a table, investing billion upon billions into better, faster, easier ways to evaporate more people.

Even on today’s news the announcement ofcontinue reading
